Probably just me, but it seems like finding someone to talk to online has become more difficult than in my daily interactions. This is strange because normally I could only meet women online. Not so much now. I've been using the site for 3, maybe 4 months now, and I've tried changing everything from my profile description, to new photos, and broadening distance. Admittedly, I'm not a very photogenic guy, or the sharpest looking profile, but not horrible either. So what's changed? A few thoughts:
Women outnumber men on this, and other sites - I don't have the numbers to back that up, but the last women I did meet online and dated for a few months had a problem I envied. Too many emails, flirts to keep track off. Which meant that she had plenty of options, and just went down her list. This could explain a complete lack of responses to my messages, other than the obvious not interested.
I'm not using the site that often - This could be the winner. I login one or twice a week, if that. I usually just check email to see if I've been viewed, have any flirts or messages, and go from there. When I do login, I'll send out a few messages. I don't chat, use the forums, etc.
I'm just getting older - Maybe it's being on the wrong side of 30. Most of my peers, not only here, but friends acquaintances as well, have already been married, are married, had already, and not looking. When we're younger we haven't yet mounted the experiences we do not wish to re-live. Aging women are attractive to most men, but the reverse isn't really true, in fact it's extremely rare.
I keep hovering the icon over "Close Account" and just stick with those daily interactions. I hesitate because it might still be possible to meet someone here, it's just not been going so well. I've talked to one person, it moved to texting, and just ended abruptly without response. The feeling is kind of reminiscent of rejection, so do we really need two outlets for that? Offline and Online?
