I was shopping yesterday and uncharacteristically was enjoying the ambiance. There were a bunch of little with their parents. They were running around, laughing, giggling and having a great time. The parents were smiling and it was such a relaxing scene. I was so "envious" of the , not a care in the world was evident, they were just enjoying the moment. Life sure has a way of changing as we grow older and the responsibilities accumulate. I can almost remember my childhood and the pure fun we had. Do you have memories of your childhood? Have you seen the pure innocence as a group of playing? (no pictures today)

I confess, I am a bit of a cookie monster . What a relief to get that out (although I think I have confessed in the past ). This time of year takes a lot of restraint, or maybe not so much. I am going to drag out the pots and pans in a couple days and start various concoction's and get a baking frenzy started. Why not use the excuse that it is coming up on Christmas time. Any excuse to start baking and eating cookies. Do you bake this time of year? Do you have any favorite (s)? Or are you an eater, without shame? Any ladies care to join in?

I am a tactile person, I think I can express myself well with a touch. It does not have to be sexual in nature. Sometimes is a reassuring touch, a gentle reprimand or just playful. We seem to learn the importance of a touch as infants. Are you a tactile person? How important is a touch to you? When shared with a partner, it can be a silent form of communication. Or rejecting it can be a way to display displeasure. What are your thoughts?

I am officially going to try to start Christmas shopping today. But then I realized, I do not have the list for my friends from Blogland! I am not very good at gift choosing, so I need a hand here. I would like to sit back with a cup of coffee and have you each let me know what you would like to have for Christmas. The naughtier the better, but I have no objection to "vanilla" gifts . Remember I am not a great chooser, so if you do not tell me, it just may get interesting

Well actually yesterday was my fourth blog anniversary . It had been a fun trip, meeting all the fun people here in blogland. I have really enjoyed meeting all of you. Your blogs are of all styles, being entertaining, educational and so just silly. My style has been evolving, I enjoy keeping it light, sexy and flirty, probably just reflecting my personality. I am finding my "visual style" is a lot of fun, at least to me. I hope most of you are enjoying it. I am looking forward to more anniversaries in blogland. Like that old saying goes,,,,,,,,,"See ya in the funny papers"

Yesterday was an historic event, The passing of Fidel Castro. A man that single handedly destroyed the culture of Cuba 50 years ago . Although the island had not a democratic government it was thriving. Now it is a tattered shell of it self. The people are limited to what food the government allows them (rationed). The soldiers were used as an exchange commodity with Russia for any years, being sacrificed for food and other commodities. The infrastructure remains in shambles. There will no change in the government since the military and Castros brother are still in control. As the title says," Good riddance to bad rubbish"

I did this awhile ago, and when I saw it again last night, figured that doing it again could be fun,,,,,,
This is the year after I was born(1954). My wise ass friend sent it to me. This may surprise you as it did me. The Year was 1955! Do you have any memories of this year? You” ”, does any of this surprise you?

I can not get the picture to show in the right places for some reason, my apologies

Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging 7 cents

just to mail a letter?

If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00,
Nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store.

When I first started driving, who would have thought
Gas would someday cost 25 cents a gallon?
Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage.

Did you see where some baseball player just signed
a contract for $50,000 a year just to play ball?
It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making
more than the President.

I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric.
They're even making electric typewriters now.

It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few
married women are having to work to make ends meet.

It won't be long before young couples are going
to have to hire someone to watch their so they can both work.

I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door
to a whole lot of foreign business.

Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the
Government takes half our income in taxes. I sometimes wonder
if we are electing the best people to government.

The fast food restaurant is convenient for a quick meal,
but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on.

There is no sense going on short trips any more
for a weekend. It costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay in a hotel.

This is the Culmination of Thanksgiving, The dreaded Black Friday . The adventurous , the fool hardy and bargain hunters burst out to the malls!! They are running off the huge meals from yesterday. I don't get it, but as long as they are having , so be it. Are you a shopper today? If you are, do you enjoy the adventure? I sit it out, and watch cowboy movies, especially John Wayne. Good luck and safe shopping to all

And of course every other day of the year also. This is the culmination of all of the efforts this week. Good food, great company ! The weather here is nice and chilly, maybe a little rain later today. I hope that those experiencing bad weather have a safe holiday also. The hustle and bustle now is the most fun. It sure does test every ones management skills. Interjecting humor , fun and family gossip does lighten things up also. As things get done, the immensity of the food becomes more apparent. All reaches a crescendo when the meal is served, after a heartfelt Thanks. After the grand meal, according to family tradition, the men retreat to the den and lay about watching TV while the women complain about the men . I wish you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and many more

~~~ Bakin Day!!!!!
No, not Bacon day . Today is the day to get the baking done for tomorrow, Thanksgiving. I just love the smells, it is so homey. We always share out different processes of preparation throughout the neighborhood. This year I have been elected to bake an apple pie and some chocolate chip cookies (I have to do a lot, I am a Cookie Monster ). Just the process and smells bring back so many memories . A bit of stress since there are many people to feed. Is this the day you start to move towards serving? What are your chores today? If you do not have this holiday, do you enjoy baking and pies? I could use a helper or two
Checking the Strategic Thanksgiving Plan this morning. Per plan, this is the final shopping day . I am assembling the shopping lists from the Ladies on the street (I am the youngster on the street ) and heading out to get the supplies. I have to pay particular attention, if I miss something or get the wrong blend , there will be hell to pay . There will be a stop at the Food Pantry to make a for those that need some help. Do you have a plan for this week coming up to Thanksgiving? I kind of like the prep work, organized chaos with a goal . Tomorrow is the baking day, and for so many that last travel day to get home,
This is the week of Thanksgiving here. I enjoy the build up to Thanksgiving this Thursday. The family atmosphere, the smells of food cooking, the actual food . It brings to mind the Thanksgiving's that I had to spend away from home while in the military for 30 years. All the fine men and women that volunteered their time and lives to serve their country. They always seemed to find a way to celebrate holidays with their military families when they could not be with their "regular" families. I carry the pride and love for these people even after retiring. I spend a few hours of my Thanksgiving at the Base near me, just sitting, chatting with these fine people. No matter the country you are in and even if you do not have a Thanksgiving, I hope you are thankful for the people that have chosen to volunteer their time to serve your nation.
+~_ Funday? Sunday? Or Both?
Can it be both? I say yes it is a good day for everything. Religious, outdoors, good food , good company . We are going to experience our first cold day, with high temperatures in the 40's F . My choice would be staying in, snuggling and more. A bit of cooking and resting. What would be, or is your choice? Do you have a Sunday routine? I think I do, but I try to resist and be flexible. So tell us, what is going on this Sunday for you?
